Miango Holiday
Had a good 3-day weekend in Miango. Luke loved it. He went on the zip line (over and over and over), marveled at bugs, watched a couple videos, saw a cow butchered, rode his scooter, and made a friend (who wasn’t a very good influence on him). Barb and I spent most of our time either watching & playing with Luke or reading. Barb read countless back issues of Time while I read Charles Williams’ Shadows of Ectasy (his first and not his best novel) and the last half of Dante’s Purgatory. And of course, we took naps while Luke was resting, and enjoyed the quiet countryside covered with golden wildflowers. Barb enjoyed not cooking at all for 3 days, while I would have preferred to be eating her cooking!
Came back after lunch and had a busy afternoon & evening though it’s still a holiday. Oxygen concentrator rep came to visit and tell me what’s available, seminary professor came to ask for help because the proofs of his latest writing are missing the Hausa characters, the “missionary” segment of the network was dead, and a friend came to get me to order something on-line. (If you use the Internet for buying or selling, think what it would be like not to have a credit card you could use. Credit cards are basically unheard of here.)
