  • Uganda: Country Needs a Body to Oversee Fertility Treatment
    There is more to in vitro fertilisation (IVF) than merely fertility treatment. Reproductive liberty which uses technology to subordinate early human life to extra-uterine fertilisation should be subject to moral and legal oversight. The moral issue is the status of the pre-implantation embryos.

    Jigawa Stage government has donated 19 vehicles to communities for easy conveyance of pregnant women to hospitals during labour.Presenting nine vehicles to ni-ne communities yesterday, the state commissioner of women af-fairs, Hajiya Fatima Widi Jalo, said the gesture was extended to the communities under the sta-te government's programme 'Haihuwa lafiya'.
