The authors studied 42 children on ART, of whom 30% developed adverse effects including, in order of frequency, hepatotoxicity, raised serum amylase, zidovudine-induced anemia, and nevirapine-induced rash. One patient each had didanosine-induced abdominal pain, stavudine induced angioedema, and hepatic steatosis. Most of the adverse effects resolved with dosage modification or elimination of the offending drug.
