The Francis J. Curry National Tuberculosis Center is offering an online audio and slide (PowerPoint) presentation on the topic of pediatric tuberculosis. This is, of course, a vital topic for doctors in most developing countries and certainly where HIV is prevalent. The description includes,

"This slide presentation with streaming audio provides information to strengthen the diagnostic and treatment skills of clinicians working with children with latent TB infection (LTBI) or active TB disease. This course also includes extensive additional resource materials, including downloadable forms, tables, algorithms, and printable PowerPoint slides. ... (read more)

"Target Audience

" * Clinicians and healthcare professionals

Continuing medical education credit (CME) is offered at no charge.

"Dr. David Ashkin exhibits a clinical case study of TB, including photographs, x-rays, treatment and results. Epidemiology and statistics are also presented, along with the relationship between HIV and TB. Diagnosis of TB infection, treatment tools and guidelines, and public health goals for TB are additional components of this training.

"There are 89 slides to experience, and the presentation takes approximately one and a half hours to view. You can set your own pace, and have the opportunity to review material for reinforcement. A set of handouts is available, and can be printed and used as support material as you view the presentation. ... "

I think the article is a good summary of the management on paediatric TB although there are some differences in the way it is managed in the US and here.
